Welcome to #EATS! One of my absolute favorite things in this world is food. The way it smells, tastes, the culture… everything. I love to be adventurous and have fun with food. Atlanta is amazing when it comes to great restaurants, hole-in-the-walls, and food festivals. So I’m going to take you along with me to various places around Atlanta and share my #eats.
Let me tell you about this place named Spoon. It’s located on Moreland Avenue in Ormewood Plaza. Spoon serves Thai food with a modern twist. My family has been dining here for a couple years. It’s a relatively small place with dimmed lighting, funky art, and a very relaxed vibe.
Today we started with my favorite appetizer, the Shrimp in a Blanket, which is basically shrimp wrapped and fried with a sweet sauce on the side. While I devoured the wraps, my parents enjoyed the Coconut Soup ans Thai tea. I have never had this soup but my mother tells me that it is light with sweet and savory undertones.
For our main course I had the Prikking Duck (as suggested by our server), my Mom had Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, and my Dad had the Crab Meat and Shrimp Radna. This is my first time having their duck. IT. WAS. BANGIN. The duck had a perfect golden crust and the meat was very juicy and flavorful. That paired with the minced chicken, green pepper, and green beans in a mild curry sauce. This was my best meal there to date.
If you’re ever in East Atlanta, I would definitely suggest that you give Spoon a try.
