As I lay under a shady hut in the Aruban sun, with the wind blowing and the ocean making beautiful music in the background, I can’t help but feel highly blessed and thankful. It is the last day, and as I reflect on the past week’s activities and experiences in this beautiful country the word that keeps floating around in my head is ‘gratitude’. Grateful, not only for the surroundings, but for great company, memories and lessons that I learned.
The best part of this whole experience was that I travelled with one of my best friends. Not only does she know my best angles, but we got to go on adventures together. The first place we explored was the California Lighthouse, there was a gorgeous Italian restaurant and even prettier views. We shared pizza, laughs, and photo ops, of course! For our next excurison we took a wild ATV ride through a desert-like terrain to the Natural Pools on Aruba’s Shore, the Natural Bridge, and Old Gold Mines. I was little nervous because I am not about that nature life but I actually surprised myself. This was a wild but worthwhile journey that I would not have wanted to experience with anyone else.
Moral of the story: be grateful for the experiences you have and the company you keep.
